Logging In

This page covers how to access DIBOP for the first time, sign in with your credentials, and manage your authentication settings.

Accessing DIBOP

Your organisation's DIBOP instance is available at a URL provided by your platform administrator. This is typically in the format:

https://<your-organisation>.dibop.ca

Open this URL in a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari).

Sign-In Methods

DIBOP supports two sign-in methods. Your organisation may use one or both, depending on how your platform administrator has configured identity.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

If your organisation uses SSO, you will see a Sign in with SSO button on the login page. Click it and you will be redirected to your organisation's identity provider (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, or another OIDC-compatible provider).

  1. Click Sign in with SSO
  2. You are redirected to your identity provider's login page
  3. Authenticate using your corporate credentials
  4. You are redirected back to DIBOP, signed in

Seamless Access

If you are already signed in to your identity provider (e.g., you are logged into your Microsoft 365 account), SSO may sign you in automatically without prompting for credentials.

Username and Password

If your organisation does not use SSO, or if SSO is configured as optional, you can sign in with a username and password.

  1. Enter your email address in the Email field
  2. Enter your password in the Password field
  3. Click Sign In

First Login

When you sign in for the first time, you may be prompted to:

  1. Set a password -- if your account was created by an administrator and no password was set
  2. Accept the terms of service -- if your organisation has configured a terms acceptance screen
  3. Complete your profile -- optionally set your display name and preferences

After completing these steps, you are taken to the Platform Home page.

Resetting Your Password

If you have forgotten your password:

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?
  2. Enter the email address associated with your DIBOP account
  3. Check your email for a password reset link
  4. Click the link and set a new password

SSO Users

If your organisation uses SSO, password reset is handled by your identity provider (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID), not by DIBOP. Contact your IT helpdesk for SSO password issues.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

DIBOP supports two-factor authentication for an additional layer of security. When 2FA is enabled:

  1. Enter your email and password as normal
  2. You are prompted for a verification code
  3. Open your authenticator app (e.g., Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator) and enter the 6-digit code
  4. Click Verify

Setting Up 2FA

If your administrator has enabled 2FA for your enterprise:

  1. Sign in with your email and password
  2. You will be prompted to set up 2FA on first login
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
  4. Enter the verification code to confirm setup
  5. Save your recovery codes in a secure location

Recovery Codes

Recovery codes allow you to sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app. Store them somewhere safe -- they cannot be retrieved after the setup screen is closed.

Managing 2FA

You can manage your 2FA settings from your profile:

  1. Click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of the navbar
  2. Select Profile & Security
  3. Under Two-Factor Authentication, you can:
    • View your current 2FA status
    • Regenerate recovery codes
    • Disable 2FA (if your enterprise policy allows it)

Session Management

Session Duration

Your DIBOP session remains active for as long as you are using the platform. Sessions expire after a period of inactivity, which is configured by your platform administrator (typically 30 minutes to 8 hours).

Signing Out

To sign out:

  1. Click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner
  2. Click Sign Out

You are returned to the sign-in page.

Multiple Devices

You can be signed in from multiple devices simultaneously. Each session is independent -- signing out on one device does not affect sessions on other devices.

Troubleshooting

Issue Solution
"Invalid credentials" error Double-check your email and password. Passwords are case-sensitive.
SSO redirects but never completes Your identity provider may not have DIBOP configured as a trusted application. Contact your IT administrator.
Account locked After too many failed login attempts, your account may be temporarily locked. Wait 15 minutes or contact your administrator.
2FA code not working Ensure your device's clock is synchronised. Authenticator codes are time-based and a clock drift of more than 30 seconds can cause failures.
"Enterprise not found" You may be accessing the wrong DIBOP URL. Check with your administrator for the correct address.

Next Steps

Once you are signed in, explore your Dashboard to see the platform home page and start navigating DIBOP.
